Pairing something boyish with something feminine may not sound right, but oddly enough it works perfectly. This soft cashmere sweater looks extra girly with an eye-catching statement necklace, while the boyfriend jeans, loafers, and messenger bag give the outfit a masculine/relaxed feel.

Shorts for the fall

As the leaves slowly start to fall and we find ourselves pulling out our cold weather wardrobes, I find myself still trying to incorporate pieces from the warm weather. These black tweed shorts are the perfect example. Their warm and fuzzy texture is what makes them work for fall, and if my legs get too cold I can simply pair them with sheer black tights.

Lucite.  Strippers and bedroom negligee come to mind, but when done right, lucite can look tasteful; elegant, even.  Seen pervasively on the spring/summer 2013 runways from Valentino studded pointed toe pumps to evening clutches by Stella McCartney & Charlotte Olympia, lucite has continuously proved itself to remain a stylish element.  My take on lucite involves a thigh high slit and my trustworthy leather jacket.

Old obsession, structured minis. New obsession, skirts with movement and fluidity. This camel colored skirt works perfectly for fall. It can be paired with flats and or heels (even boots) and something tight on top balances the fullness of its shape.

Ponchos have made a triumphant return and have earned its place amongst fall wardrobe staples. Gone are the days where ponchos meant immobility of your arms and an unflattering silhouette.  This billowy alternative to a cozy cardigan can be worn with your favorite pair of heels or dressed down with leather boots.

love affair with leopard

Many people do not appreciate the versatility of leopard print.  When done right, it can be paired with virtually anything, from a vibrant colored skirt à la Rachel to a faded chambray button-down. Why not combine a fitted jean vest with the flowy silhouette of the ever-popular hi-low skirt? Add leopard and purple suede mary janes into that combination, and you have yourself a killer ensemble.

Dare to incorporate your favorite leopard pumps to a differently patterned outfit; Olivia Palermo rocks this look effortlessly.

pretty in peplum

All I am seeing right now on the style blogs/Pinterest is peplum. The flouncy and feminine fabric attached to the end of a shirt pairs perfectly with some cute skinnies or a tight skirt for balance. I loved this whimsical spotted number from H&M and I decided to edge it up a bit with my leather skirt. The bright red necklace gives the outfit some much needed color.

For this picture, I decided to break out a new pair of shoes that I just purchased from Charlotte Russe. I knew I would get great wear out of these black wedges and decided to pair them with a black blazer. The sequin skirt is something I don't get to wear often but I knew when paired with this bright shirt, the black blazer would help tone it down. This outfit seems perfect for a night out with friends.
